The RIE-SET WEEK AT THE UNIVERSITY OF ZIMBABWE
Nyadire Teachers' College recently participated at the Research and Intellectual Expo (RIE) Science, Engineering and Technology (SET) at the University of Zimbabwe.
RIE-SET is a Zimbabwean initiative by the Ministry oh Higher and Tertiary Education, Science and Technology Development that was set up to showcase the best research and intellectual work by Zimbabweans both at home and in the diaspora.
The expo was running une\der the theme 'Engagement, Innovation and Diversity for National Transformation and Development'. The major thrust is on Unlocking Human Potential.
Our college participated very well in the visual and performing arts segment. At our stand, there was a magnificent display by the ICT, Home Economics,Art and Design as well as Early Childhood Development (ECD).
It was quite exciting to also register our sucess in reserach paper presentation. Three presenters from the college. These are the Principal herself, Mrs Rosemary Nyarugwe, Mr. Elisha Ndanga and Mrs Catherine Chiimba.
Mrs Nyarugwe presented the paper on behalf of her colleagues. It was quite informative, thought provoking and an eye opener.
The paper has been motivated by a case study of how Nyadire Teachers’ College’s department of Health and Life Skills used Expressive Arts as a form of therapy in assisting student teachers in need of both emotional and psychological support.
